Wawasee saw all level of its wrestling program working this weekend in various ways.

The girls were in Fishers for the IHSGW Team State Duals. After losing in the first round to Whiteland, the Lady Warriors responded with wins over Lawrence Central, Rochester and Jennings County to finish the day 3-1 and ninth overall among the 16 teams involved.

The JV boys had a half dozen competing in the season-ending Plymouth JV Tournament, and four of those Warriors went undefeated to win their weight class brackets and the other two won their final matches of the day for third place.

Sunday morning the entire program was in place to assist with the future Warriors and Lady Warriors as Wawasee hosted its Wawasee Folkstyle Open.

Wawasee hosted its mega kids tournament Sunday morning, the Wawasee Folkstyle Open, taking up the entirety of the Hardwood Teepee for majority of the day. Boys and girls from early grade school up through middle school competed against teams from around the area.
